The Baker's Arms

Woolloongabba

Updated: Apr 04, 2024

THE BAKER'S ARMS HAS CLOSED.

The Gabba’s cool breakfast spot and bakehouse, The Baker’s Arms, oozes all the charm of an English country pub; with exposed brick walls, vintage wallpaper, dark timber finishes and glossy green tiled bar.

But instead of pints, this specialty bakehouse prepares carefully crafted Campos coffee on a leather-bound La Marzocca machine.

The Baker’s Arms, owned by Eugene Phua (co-owner of Campos Coffee), serves up breakfast and lunch - on enamouring enamel plates - including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.  Alongside salads and sandwiches (including the classic breaky bacon, egg and gruyere served on sourdough), patrons can opt for pies (beef, red wine and sweet potato or lamb, rosemary and leek), roast veggie wraps or ham and sweet potato loaf served with tomato relish.

The display case is a cornucopia of cakes (orange marmalade or chocolate beetroot), tarts (rhubarb, apricot and citrus) and assorted sweet treats (berry crumble, key lime pie and rocky road).

Non-coffee drinkers can down freshly made juices like apple and lemon, carrot, ginger and lime, or straight up OJ.  The menu changes daily and all items are baked fresh on-site.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
