Paddington
Updated: Oct 14, 2025
The Shed Turkish Mezze & Bar brings a delicious and authentic taste of Turkey to Paddington, open daily for lunch and all afternoon through to dinner.
There are many choices of seating arrangements. Diners can take a seat on the alfresco covered terrace which great for people-watching.
There's also the option of dining inside near the bar where the back window offers a local vista or in the cosy dining room to one side which doubles as a function space.
From the signature mezze platters and woodfired pides to succulent chargrilled meats and homemade desserts, every dish is made from authentic recipes, fresh ingredients, and using time-honoured cooking techniques.
For starters, it's hard to go past the traditional trio of dips (hummus, beetroot & baba ganoush) served with fresh baked Turkish bread; and the Mixed Mezze (signature falafel, lamb kofta, and sigara börek served with house pickle, Turkish bread, and a dip of choice), spiced paprika-coated calamari with house aioli; falafel bites served on hummus; and creamy red lentil soup served with fresh bread.
Also on the menu are Spinach and Feta Börek Rolls (traditional börek filled with feta, mozzarella & spinach in crisp pastry, with herb yoghurt); Stuffed Imam Bayildi (slow-roasted eggplant stuffed with sautéed onion, tomato & capsicum, topped with garlic yoghurt), or Mixed Mezze.
Pides (Turkish pizzas) are a house specialty and come highly recommended, with options includng Vegetarian (spinach, roasted veges & cheese); Lahmacun (beef mince, onion, capsicum, tomato & parsley); Tavuklu (marinated chicken, mushroom, capsicum, onion & cheese) and Turkish House Pizza (marinated chicken, sucuk, pastrami, veggies, egg, cheese & chilli).
Mains include Güveç (Turkish style slow cooked casserole with mixed vegetables, served with rice pilaf); Iskender Brisket (thinly sliced slow cooked brisket with rich tomato sauce & mint yoghurt, served with bread or rice pilaf); and Tavuk Göğsü (grilled chicken breast fillet, mix greens, mushroom sauce & rice pilaf).
From the grill, choices include lamb or chicken shish; minced lamb kebab; and garlic and lemon marinated prawn skewers; while the ultimate dish is The Sultans mixed grill platter, incorporating the best of the other grill dishes (chicken, lamb, prawn, Adana shish & cutlet), served with rice and salad. There's also a range of quick and casual lunch dishes including wagyu beef or grilled chicken burgers; and chicken or Adana lamb wraps.
From the drinks menu, The Shed offers Turkish coffee, Turkish Apple Tea, coffees and teas, dirty chai and mocha. Alcohol choices include a range of craft beers, Guinness and Stella on tap; cocktails such as Orange & Lime Margarita, Pomegranate Martini, Rose Mojito, Strawberry Bellii and Fruittingle, house spirits, and mocktails. The wine list features a range of Australian and international wines as well as sangria by the glass or jug.
