Riverdale Park

This sprawling green parkland retains something of the feel of the century old estate from which it derives, and that once belonged to local graziers the Armstrong family.

Rolling green hills, established trees, well-tended grassy meadows and a Logan river frontage make this a real retreat from the built-up areas of Logan proper. Drop a fishing line from one of the pontoons with views to horse paddocks, enjoy a picnic in the lake's floating rotunda or the enormous hilltop rotunda, let the dog loose in the two-tiered off-leash area or the children loose in the playgrounds, one of which features a pedal monorail. Otherwise walk or bike the paths winding throughout.

Dog owners note that although the offleash areas are bereft of trees, they are divided into large and small dog zones and enjoy a rare pastoral view of grazing horses, pastures and farm cottages
