Fortitude Valley

TYM'S GUITARS IN FORTITUDE VALLEY HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Plugging itself as a guitar shop like no other, this quirky laneway outfit is run by a bunch of vintage guitar nuts who are telling the truth.

Herein is a treasure chest of preloved guitars, from collectable vintage to budget secondhand, reworked and reconditioned by the shop dudes, as well as a small exclusive cache of handcrafted new ones. Add to this vintage or hand-turned basses and amps, effects pedals and speaker cabs and there’s no need to go anywhere else as past customers Powderfinger, Keith Urban, Kevin Borich, Ed Kuepper and Paul Weller can attest.

Even those with a lacklustre approach to strings will find something of interest – an edgy smattering of leatherjacket or lemon T-shirts, the odd rare guitar book and vinyl and CDs risen from the dead.
