Kenan Malik in Conversation
Integrity 20
Why are we obsessed with Identity? Join British journalist, commentator and best-selling author Kenan Malik, for a fascinating keynote and conversation, at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, April 1.
Identity politics has become one of the defining and divisive issues of our age. But what do we actually mean by ‘identity politics’? And how does the debate about identity relate to the wider debates about immigration, populism and diversity that now dominate politics?
Joined in conversation by writer and cultural historian Luke Stegemann, Kenan will unpick the arguments around the politics of identity, tell its forgotten history, challenge the arguments of both right and left, and upend much of what we think we know about our politics and our identities.
This event is presented as part of Griffith University's Integrity 20 program with support from Welcoming Cities.
