Updated: Oct 23, 2025
No festive season is complete without the glorious sound of quintessential Christmas classic Handel's Messiah filling the Concert Hall, QPAC and this year the beloved tradition returns for one uplifting night on December 2.
Under the directorship of Dr Graeme Morton AM, the Brisbane Chamber Choir, Brisbane Chamber Players and guest soloists will bring Handel’s masterwork to life in a performance that promises both majesty and intimacy.
From the stirring overture to the jubilant choruses, Messiah remains one of the most enduring and uplifting works in the classical repertoire — a celebration of beauty, drama and joy. But this year comes a spine-tingling twist: 200 student voices will join the professional choir for the iconic Hallelujah Chorus, raising the roof in a moment guaranteed to give audiences goosebumps.
Founded in 1997, the Brisbane Chamber Choir has earned its reputation as one of Australia’s leading vocal ensembles, renowned for its versatility and commitment to fostering the next generation of singers, conductors and composers. Their performances have become a cornerstone of Queensland’s musical calendar, and this year’s Messiah is set to be one of their most powerful collaborations yet.
Whether you’re a long-time lover of Handel’s masterpiece or experiencing it for the very first time, this is an opportunity to be part of a Brisbane tradition that unites audiences of all ages in a celebration of the season.
