Slavic Markets are a colourful community market of Russian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Ukrainian and Polish food and products, held in Kangaroo Point on the first Sunday of the month.
Here you can enjoy delicious Slavic food you won't find elsewhere in Brisbane, traditional crafts, art and music, and a kids zone and jumping castle for children.
Authentic eats include Russian, Polish and Ukranian style dumplings, Piroshki Russian Pies, fresh blini crepes, ex-Yugoslavian BBQ (Chevapi, Plescavica), Golubtsi cabbage rolls, Bourek, Borscht, Slavic bakery goods (including real rye bread), Bosnian desserts and Siberian sweets.
There'll also be caviar, real fermented sauerkraut, Slavic smallgoods, Marek's 100% natural Mt Tamborine honey, Siberian jams and leaf teas, iced tea, Balkan style coffee and Kompot ( a non-alcoholic drink made from fruit simmered with water and sugar).
Amongst the arts, craft and fashion stalls you'll find Russian dolls, scarves and handcrafts, Polish textiles, European quality Polish hosiery handmade Slavic-inspired designer fashion and artworks.
