Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside will see a string of renowned artists bring their dazzling art installations to life after dark at the City Botanic Gardens from May 12-21, 2023.

Botanica 2023

This year, the gardens will be transformed into an open-air gallery once again, showcasing ten noteworthy installations that span from sculptures and projections to interactive creations and augmented reality.

Botanica 2023

With a focus on sustainability, this year's Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside has seen artists respond to the theme ‘Tread Softly’ which considers a millennium of human influence by reflecting on our natural environments.

Botanica 2023

The 2023 event is no exception to the year-on-year diversity and talent of selected artists, with works from local artists such as Phoebe Paradise, Theatre of Thunder and Keemon Williams. This year also features the first international artist, Noa Haim, an architect and designer based in Rotterdam.

Botanica 2023

A variety of engaging activities will include After-dark Art Walks, Night Explorer Children's ToursDiscovery Trails and performances which will take place every evening.

Botanica 2023

Not only can visitors experience the artworks, they can also jump in and contribute to interactive artworks. With so much to see and do, replenish at the delicious food trucks on site as well as at the outdoor bar, which will be available every evening from 5-10 pm.
