Why Choose Acupuncture for Your Pet?

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to address various health conditions in humans and is now proving beneficial for animals too.
  • Safe and Non-Invasive: Involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific points on your pet’s body to stimulate natural healing processes, promote pain relief, and restore balance.
  • Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist: Dr. Alison is a skilled and passionate animal lover with extensive training in veterinary acupuncture and complementary therapies.

Laser Therapy: How does it work? Prevents the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body, accelerates healing, stimulates tissue repair by producing macrophages, fibroblasts and lymphocytes which are essential for tissue healing and collagen synthesis. It promotes revascularisation (blood supply) of wounds and provides pain relief by stimulating the body’s own opiates, nitric oxide and serotonin.

Therapeutic Ultrasound: Uses the energy of sound waves to heat up underlying tissue to promote blood flow, release tension and relieve pain. They alos use this modality to promote the uptake and absorption of any topical medications applied to the treatment area.

Rehabilitation: Gentle exercises, movements and balancing work in clinic and for you to perform at home to help your pet recover gently and successfully, prevent muscle wasting and build up core strength following injury, surgery or chronic illness.

Other therapies: Electroacupuncture. Laser acupuncture (needless acupuncture). Moxibustion. TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation).
