Greenes Falls Circuit

Mt Glorious

Updated: Oct 16, 2019

This 4.3km easy grade walk (1) incorporates the lush Rainforest Circuit (2 km) which passes through a palm valley on the way to the falls. For a shorter option (2) sidestep the Rainforest Circuit and start at Browns Rd where a sign and small parking indentation are the start of the 2.3km loop down to the falls.

While not suited to younger children, older ones will find it a cinch and with enough variety to keep up some interest.

1. Park at the Maiala car park adjacent to the picnic grounds and cross the grass down to the entrance of the walk where the Rainforest Circuit commences. Just to the left of the entrance is a partially buried boiler, a remnant of the saw-milling industry that once dominated this spot. Stick to the left of the path, which passes aged figs including a giant Watkins fig protected by boardwalks, as well as a giant Sydney blue gum. Upon coming to the dirt track that is Browns Rd, cross over to pick up the Greenes Falls track.

2. This is the other starting point, for the shorter option. Within this, the Green Falls track, there's the option after a few metres of taking a detour through the bush Cypress Grove, either now or upon return from the falls.Otherwise follow the track downhill and along the banks of Love Creek until the lookout platform which overlooks the falls.

*Recent falls of giant red gums have blocked this path and these are currently having steps cut into them to resume access.
