PILPEL HAS TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO THE FLOODS OF 2022.

Pilpel is an exotic and unique Israeli restaurant and bar that is worth travelling to Redcliffe for, occupying an old Coles supermarket that has been transformed into a mammoth Middle Eastern themed dining hall.

Behind Pilpel is locally renowned chef Adiel, who started his unique menu-less Israeli dining concept years ago in a humble Margate shopping centre before capturing the imagination of diners on the peninsula and beyond, moving Pilpel to Suttons Beach Pavilion, where he cooked for Bee Gee Barry Gibb before taking over the vacant Coles site in 2019.

Pilpel customers are advised to come hungry and be prepared for a feast like no other - Pilpel's Israeli Signature Set Menu - which is served just as if you were a guest in an Israeli home and is prepared onsite from scratch.

Pilpel Restaurant

To start diners are treated to 15 hot and cold entrees, served to the table and cooked to mouth-watering perfection - think hummus 3 ways, baba ghanoush, charred eggplant with yoghurt, lamb pide, falafel, marinated olives, deep fried mushrooms, fragrant meatballs, pickled vegetables and calamari with aioli.

Then there are the mains like heavenly shakshuka (with smoked brisket, chorizo or feta), shish kebabs (fish, chicken and beef), Middle Eastern house rubbed and pulled brisket, and slow-cooked lamb shoulder with Israeli rice or rosemary garlic potatoes.

To finish there's a Middle Eastern dessert with Israeli tea or coffee. And children can partake in the experience too with their own modified kids menu (including ice-cream and drink), or for the less adventurous little one, there's pizza, burgers or chicken nuggets and chips,

As well as dining, Pilpel has a well-stocked bar along one wall where you can enjoy a range of Middle-eastern inspired house cocktails, or relax with a beer wine, or spirits. And there's even an ice-cream counter with and ice-blocks and ice-creams for kids.

As well as the restaurant, which features a massive scene of Tel Aviv on the wall and still retains the old supermarket floor, there's a dedicated games room for kids upstairs (where parents can relax and watch their kids on downstairs screens in the restaurant), with games personally chosen by Adiel's children.

And that's not all. The Ladies Powder room is more like an exotic Middle Eastern boudoir, which doubles as a dressing room for weddings and functions, which Pilpel is also available for.

Nice to know - There's even a special Pilpel courtesy bus that can be booked for diners.

Need to know - As well as the Israeli Signature Set Menu, you can also opt for the entree selection alone.
