Get creative at Museum of Brisbane these school holidays with a range of low-cost and free activities on offer from Friday, December 8 to Monday, January 22, including workshops and a series of ongoing activities for all age groups to enjoy.

Rearranged: Art of the Flower - Free, daily, 10am-5pm 

Still life takes on new life in this celebration of the art of the flower. Journey through the house, out the back and into the garden, and revel in the beautiful blooms at MoB's newest exhibition.

Petal Patterns - Free, Dec 9-Jan 21, 10am-1pm

Stack, fold and rearrange your very own Petal Patterns inspired by the Museum's new exhibition Rearranged: Art of the Flower. International artists including Noa Haim (Rotterdam) in collaboration with Adriaan de Man (Eindhoven) have reimagined their interactive artwork for this special school holidays activity.

Little Artist’s Eye Spy - Free, daily, 10am-5pm 

Transform your Museum visit into an exciting game of Eye Spy and discover details you might otherwise have missed. This playful Museum experience will immerse you in all forms of local art, history and culture, encompassing five different exhibitions. Ask the friendly staff at MoB reception when you arrive for activity sheets for children and their parents or carers.

Clock Tower Tours - Free activity, booking required, daily, 10am-5pm 

Discover the hidden secrets of Brisbane's heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of the iconic Clock Tower. The tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces, and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city.  Book Clock Tower tours here.

Flower Power Badge Studio - Low-cost activity, Jan 8-22, 10am-1pm 

Give your look a stylish twist when you visit the Flower Power Badge Studio. Inspired by the colours of MoB's Rearranged: Art of the Flower exhibition, visitors are invited to draw on the movement and shapes of the artworks to create a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. Drop-in sessions available for $2 each or $5 for 3.

Carnivorous Plant Paper Puppets - Low-cost activity, Dec 9-Dec 24, 10am-1pm 

Drop into the studio during December and explore the fascinating world of carnivorous plants in this fun, interactive activity designed for the whole family! Try your hand at making a paper hand-puppet inspired by carnivorous plants including Venus fly traps and pitcher plants, and put on a show. Drop-in sessions available for $2 each or $5 for 3.

Pom Pom Cactus Studio - Low-cost activity, Dec 27-Jan 7, 10am-1pm

Stitch up a storm in the Pom Pom Cactus Studio, where you can start growing your very own rainbow succulent garden and be inspired by the wild, woolly and wonderful world of artist Millie Radovic as you learn how to turn yarn into a colourful cactus to take home. Drop-in sessions available for $2 each or $5 for 3.

WORKSHOPS

Teen Gelli Printing - $25pp, Dec 13 + 22, Jan 11 + 19, 2:30pm-4:30pm

Want to learn the magic of monoprinting? This school holiday workshop will teach you how to make art using the Gelli Plate technique. Be inspired with a tour of Rearranged: Art of the Flower before returning to the studio where you'll use magazines, stencils and botanicals to create plant inspired prints to take home. Spaces are limited.

Teen Sunpaper Printing Workshop - $25pp, Dec 14 + 20, 2:30-4:30pm 

Inspired by Elisa Jane Carmichael’s stunning cyanotype series, learn the principles of sun printing, discover the magic of art using flowers, leaves and found objects, and watch as your creation comes to life before your very eyes using creativity, science and sunshine. Spaces are limited.

Teen Clay Relief Workshop - $25pp, Dec 15 + 21, Jan 3,  2:30-4:30pm

Capture a moment of nature forever in time using clay, flowers and leaves in this workshop, which will teach teens how to create a botanical clay relief. Take a tour of MoB's beautiful new exhibition Rearranged: Art of the Flower before returning to the studio to curate a selection of botanicals to create your own unique artwork. 

Teen Screen Printing Workshop: Garden Creatures - $25pp, Jan 5, 10 + 18 

Make your very own cool tote this summer with the return of MoB's Screen Teen Printing Workshop. In this 2-hour workshop, you'll learn all the skills needed to create a screen-printed scene inspired by Rearranged: Art of the Flower. This teen workshop is a fun opportunity to mix up mediums and make your own wearable masterpiece.

Teen Paper Kokedamas Workshops - $25pp, Jan 4, 12 + 17, 2:30-4:30pm

Take a stroll through the Museum's art garden in the new exhibition, Rearranged: Art of the Flower before returning to the studio for a hands-on workshop where you'll craft your own everlasting plant pal using paper cutting and macrame techniques. Best of all - you don't have to remember to water it!
