The Imperial Hotel

Iconic 112 year old Sunshine Coast hotel, The Imperial Hotel in Eumundi, has just unveiled the first of its newly renovated spaces, as part of a massive ongoing refurbishment. 

Having acquired the hotel in 2023, the Comiskey Group embarked on a journey to revitalise this iconic landmark. Following the success of The Doonan near Noosa, the group enlisted the expertise of KP Architects and CTRL Space to infuse fresh life into The Imperial Hotel.

Stage One has now been completed, with an all-new strikingly elegant front bar, gaming room and TAB, now open to the public. The new mega HD LED screen will be the best place to catch all the action in Eumundi, with live coverage of major sporting events on Fox Sports.

Home to Eumundi Brewery, visitors can now enjoy a locally made beer at the newly designed front bar, featuring pressed
metal ceilings, heritage tiles, brass details, antique mirrors and wood panelling on the walls – adding a cosy, old English
ambiance to the space. Take a walk through the past, the walls are now decorated in historical photos of Eumundi town and the hotel.

But the excitement doesn't end there! Stage two will witness a comprehensive refurbishment, including the beer garden, bar, restaurant, and band room even a sprawling kids' games room, set to become one of the largest on the Sunshine Coast. And let's not forget The Imperial Hotel Boutique Accommodation, which will receive a luxurious upgrade with a new heated pool and magnesium spa, promising a rejuvenating retreat for guests.

“From the very start, the brief remained the same; we wanted to celebrate the history of the pub. The Imperial Hotel is over 100 years old, and that is, and always will be, the most unique part about it! It has changed owners throughout the years and has been reimagined numerous times. But one thing has remained the same – it’s been a local favourite watering hole. As the new custodians of this incredible property, we want to keep it that way. We have put a lot of effort into the renovation and have plenty more to go! We are very much looking forward to seeing the community enjoy the space” says Director, Rob Comiskey.

With a growing presence on the Sunshine Coast, including ventures like The Doonan and the upcoming Coochin Fields, the Comiskey Group is poised to redefine hospitality and entertainment in the region. As they set their sights on ambitious projects like the largest hotel and entertainment venue in Stockland Aura, the future holds boundless possibilities.
