Redcliffe

Updated: Mar 08, 2025

This little gem of a playground for younger children is right on the beach just north of Redcliffe township and features state of the art play new equipment and gas barbecues.

Well shaded by gum trees and the odd pandanus it has swings, a large timber boat hull, interconnected forts and slides and shady seating for eating, while the all- important amenities block is only about 100 m away along the foreshore.

Adding a bit of interest are the sail-shaped stone formations adjacent, designed to emulate the shape of the sails of the Amity, the ship that brought the first convicts to Redcliffe (the first designated penal settlement before Brisbane). Metal plates on the stone give an idea of where the original buildings of this settlement once stood in the area.

Also opposite the park is the charming art deco style heritage listed building that was once the Redcliffe Town council chambers.
