Sushi & Nori

Bowen Hills

Updated: Apr 27, 2025

SUSHI & NORI HAS CLOSED.

At first glance Sushi & Nori looks like another sushi train but this slick modern Japanese eatery on Bowen Hills’ King St dining precinct is a cut above.

Everything is sourced fresh from markets daily before it appears on the menu here and it shows, with some of the best melt-in-the-mouth sushi and sashimi to be found at this price in Brisbane.

As well as the sushi train diners can take a seat in the window or on the terrace outside and order from the a la carte menu, which features a range of Omakase Sushi (including Dynamite, Cabbage or Wagyu Beef Roll, Grilled Spicy Prawn, Kingfish or Scallop) and Modern Kaiseki (premium dishes with a modern twist).

From the latter there’s options such as Truffle Tuna Tartare, Zucchini Noodle with Spicy Prawn, Chicken Kushiyaki, Chirashi Tower, Creamy Yuzu with Prawn, Salmon Sashimi, Scallop Ceviche or Soft Shell Crab Tempura.

All are good to share and make for a delicious fresh, light but satisfying meal which won’t break the budget.

A range of Japanese and Oz beers, sake and wines are available to accompany.

Need to know – Takeaway is also available. This makes a top spot for a quick bite before heading to The Tivoli for a show.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
