Updated: Jul 09, 2025
Celebrate Queensland’s largest and most loved annual event when the gates open for this year's Ekka, returning to the Brisbane Showgrounds for 9 fun filled days from 9-17 August, 2025.
Since 1876, the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) has been bringing the spirit of the country to the heart of the city - a must-do annual event for both city and country folks alike.

Value is front of mind this year and on top of the hundreds of free activities, animals to meet, Competitions to watch and priceless Ekka experiences, Ekka goers will also enjoy discounted tickets with 20% off Super Saver Days, two for one rides, cheap train travel and low-cost value food items, all designed to make the Show affordable for all.

This year’s Ekka offers something for everyone with agricultural displays, thousands of animals, free family-friendly shows, fashion parades, exciting rides, showbags to suit every budget, some of the nation’s finest food and wine, and the daily EkkaNITES extravaganza featuring showstopping fireworks.

This year more than 110 Show vendors will offer a value food item priced at $10 or less and Ekka food outlets will feature family bundles starting from $30 to feed a family of four.

For the first time ever, Showgoers will be able to pre-order an iconic Ekka Strawberry Sundae when they purchase their Ekka tickets online. The brand-new bundle of 4 for $25 will deliver savings to those who plan ahead their strawberry sundae purchase. Now that’s a sweet deal!

The popular daily two for one rides session will be back, giving visitors one hour of discounted rides from 9.30am to 10.30am every morning of Ekka in the B105 Sideshow Alley and Kids Carnival area. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, there are rides to suit the whole family!

Also enhancing the Ekka ride experience this year will be the new Ekka Fun Pass App which provides a digital ride card that can be scanned as people board the ride, bypassing the wait at the ticket booth. The Ekka Fun Pass will deliver bonus credit like the previous Ekka Ride Card ($50 credit for $45 Pass; $100 credit for $85 Pass and $150 credit for $120 Pass).

Don’t forget to pop into one of the Ekka’s most popular attractions, the Animal Nursery. This year the Nursery will host more than 350 adorable animals, with everything from the larger furry friends such as calves, sheep and goats to the cute and cuddly goat kids, lambs, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and puppies.

Rounding out the savings on offer at Ekka this year will be the 50 cent train fares to the recently opened new Exhibition Station located in the Brisbane Showgrounds, making the journey to the heart of the Ekka even easier!
Come and find the best of Queensland on show and the joy of being together with family and friends!
