Following its acclaimed debut season at Sydney's Hayes Theatre, The Lucky Country, will be playing at Brisbane Powerhouse from October 22-25, as part of Melt Festival.

This chamber musical takes audiences on a joyful and moving ride through a patchwork of Aussie stories and has an original score that pays homage to some of Australia's greatest musicians, such as Baker Boy, Jimmy Barnes, Kylie, The Seekers and Electric Fields.

Digging deep into the themes of identity and belonging, the show is a heartfelt and wildly entertaining celebration of who we can be as Australians.

Created by composer/lyricist Vidya Makan (Hamilton, SIX) and director Sonya Suares (Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George), the show reclaims and reimagines the national songbook with a thrilling live soundtrack, performed by a five-piece band (featuring yidaki) and a six-member ensemble.
