Sacred Sonic: Live Music & Lighting
St Patrick's Church
Updated: Jul 02, 2025
Angel Strings will merge forces with a live organist and soprano at St Patrick's Church for SACRED SONIC, a spellbinding experience of colour, light and sound on Friday, July 18.

The majestic church walls will be bathed in light in response to stirring music by John Taverner, Elgar, Ravel, Philip Glass, Max Richter, Sigur Ros and Hans Zimmer, in an event for classical music lovers, non-classical music lovers and lovers of colour and space.

The unique 143 year old setting features gothic arches, striking stained-glass windows and stunning acoustics. Coupled with the power of the pipe organ and the rich tones of live strings and soprano, the immersive experience is nothing short of transcendent.

A passionate string quartet with a unique ability to connect with a wide audience, Angel Strings has played as part of the Brisbane Festival, the World Science Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, on SBS TV, the Melbourne Fringe and to tens of thousands as part of Brisbane’s Candlelight Concert series.
Angel Strings have also performed locally and overseas with Opera Queensland, Queensland Theatre, Archie Roach, Guy Sebastian and iconic Persian artist, Moein, while individual ‘Angels’ have performed with the Queensland and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras and shared the stage with Nigel Kennedy, Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo and William Barton.
Need to know - 500 people filled St Stephen’s Cathedral for the previous rendition and St Patrick’s only way seats 250 so this will likely sell out!
