Goblin Tiny Door

South Brisbane

UPDATE July 2022: Whilst the construction work is underway on the site of the Goblin Door, the artist has removed this one for the time being. Check back here soon in 2023 to see how the artist has recreated it!

Have you spotted this tiny door? It's not really noticeable, but once you know it's there, you'll always see it.

We've done our research and have discovered that the talented builder behind this gorgeous goblin door is Mace Robertson, who has also crafted other fancy fairy doors across the city.

Located in a retaining wall on the bustling corner of Grey Street and Melbourne Street, this one-of-a-kind timber door also features an ornately-carved, wooden lunette in the archway above.

And, the cutest little cactus garden beside the doorway offers a nod to the origin of the goblin carving - our guess is somewhere in South America. Where do you think you'd see a work of art like this as the entrance to the family home around the world?

If you're still needing a hint on where to find this small door, the picture above gives you the perfect clue... it's just across the road from QPAC and adjacent to Queensland Art Gallery (which is home to it's very own tiny door where Roy & Matilda live).
