Spring School Holidays at GOMA
Add a visit to GOMA these school holidays, kids 12 and under can see the Gallery's blockbuster exhibition 'Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses' for free! This wondrous exhibition promises to spark stimulating conversations and thrill audiences of all ages.
Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses
Throughout the exhibition the exquisite creations of Iris van Herpen are paired with equally extraordinary contemporary art from the Gallery’s Collection; selected by Iris and QAGOMA curators to re-imagine the exhibition in ways that are both site-specific and meaningful for Brisbane.
Artworks including much-loved icon of the QAGOMA Collection, PixCell-Double Deer #4 by Kohe Nawa, and intricate works by leading international artists Rogan Brown and Courtney Mattison, add to the richness of this exhibition experience.
Art Box for Kids is an exciting new free exhibition series that invites children to meet an artist, see an example of the artist’s work on display, and explore their creativity through a fun hands-on activity.
Ngugi artist Elisa Jane Carmichael paints, weaves, and uses textiles to explore the beauty of nature and to reflect her family’s connection to the land.
In her activity Shell adornments, Elisa invites children to create their own unique paper shell necklace, inspired by the beautiful eugarie shells (pipis) that can be found on the shores of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
Nice to know - With 50-cent fares now available across all public transport, there's never been a better time to bring the family for an uplifting visit to GOMA.
