ARLETTE'S KITCHEN HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Arlette’s Kitchen is one of Brisbane’s real hidden treasures – an historic Albion corner store that has been turned into a gorgeous French-Vietnamese cafe serving breakfast and lunch.
Tucked down in a bit of no-man’s land behind Albion railway station, Arlette’s Kitchen is a charming dining oasis worth checking out.
Inside is one of Brisbane’s most charming settings, with fairy lights strung across the ceiling, polished floors, candlelit tables, cosy dining nooks and walls adorned with French vintage posters and Vietnamese paintings.
The succinct food menu offers a taste of both Vietnam and France with a creative twist. For breakfast there's a choice of House made Granola with with dehydrated raspberries, cocoyo, berry compote and thyme roasted pear; Chilli scrambled eggs with housemade kimchi, chilli oil on house baked croissant
Other delicious dishes include Vietnamese omelette with crackling pork belly, chilli caramel sauce and Vietnamese petite herb salad; Vietnamese corn fritter with Huon smoked salmon, mixed herbs and a soft boiled egg or Mango crepes with Queensland mango salsa, whipped cream and mango sorbet.
Lunch, served from 11:30am, includes 'something light' such as duck & cognac pate & rose jelly, BBQ duck pancakes, crumbed lamb brains and steamed rice paper rolls with mushroom.
For something more substantial there's house-made gnocchi with creamy walnut and Roquefort sauce, Pork belly burger with with choko pickles, slaw, sriracha mayo, roasted red cabbage and fries, pan roasted Tasmanian salmon in Vietnamese caramelised soy sauce or Crispy skin chicken served with rice and greens.
Drink wise, there’s Elixir espresso, T2 teas, specialty lattes made with coconut milk, traditional Vietnamese iced-coffee, freshly squeezed juices, smoothies and milkshakes.
Arlette’s Kitchen is fully licensed. After 10am, customers can wine and dine with wines from NZ, SA, WA, Victoria and France, bubbly from France and Australia and a couple of ports. Customers can BYO wine for a corkage charge.
