Nobunaga Yakitori
Morningside
NOBUNAGA YAKITORI HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2020.
Nobunaga Yakatori in Morningside offers diners an authentic Japanese yakitori experience in suburban Brisbane.
Named after the original Nobunaga yakitori restaurant in Fukuoka, Japan (with the owner’s blessing), patrons can sit at hefty timber tables or at the bar overlooking the charcoal grill.

Yakitori (Japanese for grilled) includes a selection of succulent meats - locally sourced and imported from Japan - skewered, flavoured with natural sea salt or Nobunaga’s special sauce, and then barbecued over charcoal. Choose from chicken (wing, thigh, heart, breast or bum), pork (pieces, belly or pig’s foot), steak or seafood (sea scallops, squid, prawn and eel).

There’s a range of accompaniments including vegetable skewers such as capsicum, corn on the cob and whole potato, as well salads like tomato salad, potato salad and fresh seaweed salad.

Otherwise, order a side of steamed sushi rice, asparagus spears wrapped in bacon, quail eggs or deep fried tofu, or snack on wasabi mame (wasabi coated peas), tako wasa (octopus with wasabi) or edamame (cooked soy beans).
As for drinks, on offer are green tea and Calpis, a Japanese non-carbonated soft drink.
Nice to know – For a memorable dining experience, book one of Nobunaga’s traditional tatami rooms.
