Flying Nun Cafe
Samford
The Flying Nun Cafe is an all out gem, worth in itself the car ride to picturesque Samford Village (sadly there is no longer a train line).
The clever instigator has taken an old church which has been spectacularly converted into a cafe awash with purples, crimsons, polished wood and stained glass then added a modern mosaic church building with stark interior and vaulted ceilings, a deck with more tables and chairs and a vege patch.
Within its hallowed walls there’s a discerning foodie’s menu to match - drop in for some truffled eggs, roasted organic muesli or roast duck risotto with Zentveldt coffee or to browse the Zero Japan tea pot range.
An added bonus for those with children is all of this lies within a garden with great roaming and hide’n’seek potential.
