Logan's Secret Cafe Culture

The city of Logan is known for its great outdoors, its multiculturalism and affordable housing but few, including the locals are aware of another side to Logan – its secret café culture.

Every day motorists whizz along the M1 en route to the coast or the CBD, oblivious to the fact that buried under the sea of corporate and fast food signs are some absolute hidden gems that wouldn’t be out of place in the inner city.

Take a quick detour off the motorway and within minutes you can be enjoying a cup of single origin organic coffee and a breakfast or lunch as good as any you’ll get anywhere else (and in most cases cheaper).

For those keen to embark on a discovery trail, here’s where to find them:

Café on Cusack

Tucked away in the quaint high-ceilinged arcade of a Queenslander style commercial centre is this cute coffee lounge full of curios, a local mecca for delish country cooking and excellent coffee...more

Berlin Bistro

Down in Waterford village is a little slice of Germany that is café by day and German bistro by night. Drop by for a breakfast of potato pancakes, toasted bagels or baked eggs and excellent coffee...more
