Drizzle Boy

After a sellout 2023 season in Brisbane, Queensland Theatre’s award-winning Drizzle Boy is coming to Redland Performing Arts Centre for one night only on Thursday, 21 November.
Be inspired by this charming and witty coming-of-age story, following Drizzle Boy, a young autistic man navigating his first experiences of university, love, and independence. If you’ve seen the cult film Rain Man, Drizzle Boy will strike a chord in your heart.
More than a journey of self-discovery, ‘Drizzle Boy’ offers a glimpse into what it’s like to see the universe differently and to feel that you don’t quite fit in.
The play features a vibrant cast of characters—historical figures imagined by Drizzle Boy, his daemons, family, friends, and even Dr. Google—all portrayed by just three actors. Through lightning-fast costume changes and accent shifts, they take you on a wild and uplifting journey of hope.
This smash-hit production made history by debuting Australia’s first-ever neurodivergent character portrayed by a neurodivergent actor on a main stage. It soared to success, winning the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award 2022-3 and earning two Matilda Awards.
