Aussie Way Hostel

Petrie Terrace

Occupying an historic timber house circa 1872, this charming little hostel features rooms with traditional Qld VJ walls and modern comforts including a stainless steel kitchen and swimming pool. Roomy 4 bed dormitories are $28 pp, singles from $55 pp and doubles $34 and this is not party central so chances of getting a decent night’s sleep are high.

The typical Queenslander lace iron verandah is a great place to kick back and enjoy the views across the quaint pyramid roofed cottages to the forested peaks of Mt Coot-tha. Otherwise there are plenty of other gathering spots - the spacious kitchen, outdoor barbecue area, games room and lounge with cable-wired flat screen TV.

Despite its location tucked away in the narrow streets of Brisbane’s oldest suburb, Aussie Way is only a short walk to The Barracks with cinema, Coles and cafes and Ithaca Pool. Meantime the cafes, boutiques and galleries of historic Paddington, the Roma St Gardens, the city centre and cultural centre are all about a 15-20 min walk away.
