Workshop 14
Hamilton
WORKSHOP 14 HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2023.
Workshop 14 is the first and only small bar in Hamilton - a craft beer, wine and spirits bar with an industrial-like kitout in the slick Hamilton Harbour precinct.
The bar, whose name was inspired by the local shipping industry, can be found tucked away at one end of the line-up of restaurant and retail shops, from where its al fresco terrace enjoys a cool breeze, even on hot days.
Decked out with metal chairs and work stools, seating is both inside and out, with the latter being a good place to kick back with a glass of craft beer or a refreshing Mojito on a balmy evening.
Beer fans will find Peroni Draft or a trio of Bacchus beers on tap and a decent bottled selection that includes Feral Hop Hog, Burleigh Big Head, Stone & Wood Pacific Ale and Stella Artois, while there’s Batlow Cider on tap and by the bottle and Lick Pier Ginger Beer.
For wine drinkers there’s a small menu of predominantly boutique white, red and sparkling wines with a couple of each available by the glass, and ranging up to Penfolds St Henri Shiraz and Veuve Cliquot NV (by the bottle).
In addition Workshop 14 stocks a good range of spirits (both standard and premium), liqueurs and fortifieds, and a small cocktail list of classics like Mojito, Espresso Martini, Mint Julep and Negroni.
On the food front, patrons can nibble on Hot Bites like Crispy Duck Spring Rolls, Cheese Arancini with Kewpie Mayonnaise, a Cheese Board featuring Woombye Camembert, Milawa Blue and Mafra Cheddar or go for one of the rustic house pizzas like Margherita or Meat, Meat, Meat (salami, meatballs and classic Picante with Baby Ray BBQ sauce and Fior Di latte).
Need to know – Workshop 14 faces off with Samies Girl across the road. There is free parking onsite at Hamilton Harbour or on-street parking nearby.
