Industry Beans is a stunning split-level coffee 'greenhouse', cafe and bar occupying a massive designer Newstead warehouse.
The Queensland HQ and flagship store from the Victorian coffee gurus, Industry Beans is a state of the art venue unlike any other in Brisbane.
Here customers can enjoy a 'crop to cup' coffee experience, thanks to the on-site coffee greenhouse where both roasting and brewing takes place and taste a full range of blends and single origins roasted on site. On the coffee menu are espresso, filter, chilled, cold brew, coffee bubble cup, Fitzroy iced and Yuzu Cascara spritz.
But while coffee is the star, it's only one of the many attractions at Long Island. Brunch, available from 7-4, is totally next level, with dishes such as fruit sashimi, roasted coconut panna cotta, porcini egg, coffee rubbed wagyu burger, beetroot brioche bowl and espresso glazed beef rib on offer. And for something light, there's treats including croissants, Danishes or peanut butter brownies.
Then, from 4-10pm on Thursday to Saturday, there's an impressive evening menu of snacks, small and large plates and desserts available. Snacks include whipped beetroot hummus, truffled porcini croquettes or cheese and charcuterie plates, while small dishes include black rice prawns. pepperberry squid, coffee rubbed fried quail and cured hiramasa kingfish.
For something more substantial, diners can choose from sous vide salmon garden, beet brioche bowl, ginger beer pork belly or wagyu sirloin with sides such as whey glazed carrots, leaf salad, heirloom tomatoes or polenta chips. Save room for dessert, especially the coffee garden or the Magnum indulgence.
Industry Beans is also fully licenced, with Green Beacon Co and Mornington peninsula beer on tap, a range of bottled craft beer and a substantial wine list featuring boutique Australian wines and a smattering from Italy, France and New Zealand. There are even house cocktails including the Newstead Espresso Martini, Sour Coffee Fizz, Cold Brew Negroni, Bloody Mary and Springtime Spritz.
