Macho Macho

Ashgrove

Macho Macho closed in March 2020 and has been replaced by Corn Street.

Macho Macho is bringing quirky vibes, warm hospitality and delectable food to Brisbane’s suburb of Ashgrove.

The vibrant eatery is decked out with exposed brick walls, neon lighting, quirky furniture and the epic wall mural created by local artist, Joel Birch. There’s plenty of high and low dining tables, suited for intimate and group dining.

The café and bar has both a day menu and a bar menu. For breakfast the honeycomb, ricotta and lavender pancakes are a staff favourite, and they taste as good as they look, believe it or not.

The Croque Madame is another bespoke Macho Macho specialty – it’s artisan toast stuffed with ham, seeded mustard, cheese, béchamel and topped with an oozy egg.

If you’re dining in for the evening their share plates are a great idea to try a bit of everything. With tasty morsels such as their haloumi sticks.

The Macho Bravas is another specialty dish, using their famous take on the hash brown mixed with chorizo and Napoli.

Or tuck into their 12 hour braised pork sliders – they’re quite the delight.

Another delicious morsel is their dukkah crusted eggplant, served with hommus, labna cheese and pomegranate dressing.

Macho Macho serves coffee, tea and a selection of cold drinks such as their refresh juice, mixed with watermelon, pineapple and mint. It’s also a licensed venue, serving beer and wine.

Need to know – street parking is available nearby.

Nice to know – Macho Macho owners also own Artie & Mae.
