Leavain Bakery

Morningside

LEAVAIN BAKERY HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED ITS DOORS.

Sitting somewhat incongruously in the midst of a cookie cutter shopping mall is this outstanding little organic bakery. With its sourdough pane and Turkish pide amongst the best you’ll find in Brisbane, along with sourdough rye, baguette, Vienna, corn loaf, spelt and pistachio or walnut this is bread worth crossing town for.

There is also a small range of sweet delights such as gingerbread and banana bread. For those too time-or-distance-challenged to make it to Morningside look out for Leavain bread on the breakfast menu of some cafes or check out their stall at one of the Jan Powers Farmers Markets.
