Hendra

Updated: Jun 06, 2024

This Federation-style park, once part of the grounds of famed Irish retailer TC Beirne’s Victorian villa, has to be Brisbane’s prettiest green public space.

TC Beirne Park Hendra Rotunda

Partially fenced and bordered by hedges, entry is through formal picket gates and inside is dotted with graceful old fig trees and ornamental jacarandas and a couple of picnic rotundas. Even the well-shaded playground evokes a past era with iron frames of vintage cars mixed with modern slippery dips and fortresses and a spinning flower.
