Kent Road Bistro
Wooloowin
Kent Road Bistro is a sophisticated new eatery in Wooloowin offering fresh modern Australian cuisine with French and Italian influences.
Owned and operated by a charming husband and wife, Chef Tim and Victoria Michels, the duo have created a classic suburban BYO bistro that provides an affordable fine dining experience.
From the moment you are welcomed through the bright green front door, a pleasant dining experience awaits. The restaurant interior is colourful and vibrant with chic black and white striped banquette seating and crisp, white tablecloths.
With a focus on seasonal fresh produce, the monthly-changing menu at Kent Street Bistro does not disappoint. The a la carte menu is the same for both lunch and dinner with options for 2 courses ($55*) and 3 courses ($65*).
All meals start with homemade sourdough, made fresh on premises every day, accompanied with apple balsamic and evoo (extra virgin olive oil), followed by entree offerings of Coddled Ocean Trout with horseradish and caviar cream, Steamed Asparagus with pomegranate, brik pastry and cardamon, and Seared Scallops that are so silken, they melt in the mouth, served with French lentils, carrot and ginger.
Stand-outs from the September mains menu include Spring Lamb served with peas and leeks, Market Fish wrapped in Tunisian brik pastry with cauliflower puree and hazelnut dukkah, and Spring Vegetable Risotto with almond cream; with delicious sides to accompany the meals.
The dessert menu offers a brilliant selection of sweets such as Rosewater and Pistachio Mille Feuille served with black sesame ice-cream, Tiramisu with espresso caramel, and Steamed Blackberry Pudding with creme fraiche ice-cream.
This delightful bistro, nestled in Brisbane's northside, is bringing back the nostalgia of suburban BYO dining. The bistro is getting a liquor license for wine and beer, so diners will be able to order from a select wine list as an option.
Nice to know - The rear courtyard, currently under construction, is scheduled to be operational by Summer, with a licensed bar where patrons can get a sneaky wine along with charcuterie and other gourmet morsels.
