Melrose Restaurant
Bulimba
Melrose is a stunning Pan Asian restaurant tucked away on a Bulimba rooftop at the river end of Oxford St.
The unmarked entrance is via a glass door next to Darvella Patisserie - enter and take the stairs or lift to the next level where you'll find the main entry to the stunning restaurant, which features an open-sided kitchen and retractable roof to view the sunset sky and stars.
The delectable menu is a showcase of Indonesian and Thai flavours made from locally sourced produce, with unique crafted cocktails designed to complement the food taste.
On the menu you'll find delicious bites such as house shucked oysters with cashew nut green nahm jim, prawn or pomelo betel leaf, crispy chicken ribs, Moreton Bay bug steamed buns, and yellowfin tuna larb.
Larger dishes to share include grilled market fish wrapped in banana leaf, kari ayam (chicken, kipfler potatoes, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf); crispy pork belly; soft shell crab (stir-fried curry powder, Chinese celery); or turmeric curry (green melon, tofu, eggplant, betel leaf).
There are also charcoal skewers (beef, macadamia, fried shallot; sticky pork, sesame & saltbush; or grilled okra, nahm prik kra) and side dishes such as green papaya salad, silken tofu and stir-fried greens.
Need to know - Melrose is a 2 minute walk from the Bulimba ferry stop. There is also plenty of on street parking nearby.
