The annual James St Food & Wine Trail returns to showcase James Street's celebrated dining scene, on July 27, 2025.

The free-to-attend event sees the precinct’s leading venues and award-winning chefs join forces to shut down the street, transforming it into an urban open-air picnic.

First launched in 2012, the James St Food + Wine Trail (JSWFT) ithe 2025 program boasts the largest footprint and highest number of participating food and beverage stalls in the event’s history. Embodying James St’s ever-growing dining scene, 26 resident venues will take over 40 market stalls to serve more than 170 restaurant-quality menu items for dining alfresco.

This year’s culinary line-up includes newcomers Hideki Izakaya and Penelope, who will join the JSFWT honour role of long-standing resident venues including: Biànca, Cru Bar, ēmmē, ESSA, Fresh Fish Co, Fresh Sushi Co, Gelato Messina, Gemelli, Gerard’s, The Green, Hellenika, James St Bakery, James & Antler, Jocelyn’s Provisions, Laneway Bagels, Lobby Bar, Mosconi, The Nixon Room, sAme sAme, LOS Bar, Sixes and Sevens, SK Steak & Oyster, Sunshine and Sushi Room.

For those who like to learn while they eat, the Sushi Room will again be bringing back the drama and precision of their popular whole tuna carving.

Complimenting the quality dining on offer, the community is invited to marinate in the sounds of street-wide live performances and DJ sets with more stages and performers than ever catering to all music tastes. For families, free children’s activities will run all day from 10am.

The line-up of JSFWT activities and ofers continue with discounted stays at The Calile Hotel for those looking to stay during JSFWT when using the code JSFWT25. Art on James will also make a return in 2025, with live sound performances taking place at intervals throughout the day in partnership with the Institute of Modern Art.
