A Day by the Bay

Updated: Sep 05, 2024

You don't have to travel far from Brisbane's CBD to enjoy a coastal escape filled with breathtaking vistas, top notch eateries, watering holes, walks and swimming spots. Brisbane's beautiful Bayside has it all, and we've got the perfect itinerary for your next day trip. Travel in style in the spacious, safe and super stylish Lexus RX.

Myrtle & Blossom Sandgate

First up, a coffee and some breakfast is a must! The Bayside boasts a host of top notch cafes and coffee spots. Some standouts include Myrtle and Blossom, Baaia, The Witchin Kitchen, Matthew Thomas and 3 Blind Mice Cafe in Sandgate, Farmhouse Restaurant & Coffee Shop in Wellington Point, Tide on the Jetty and Cafe La Mer in Manly, and Lighthouse Cafe Bar in Cleveland.

Wynnum

Once your belly is full and you've waited the obligatory 15 mins, you can check out the local swimming spots, playgrounds and walking tracks. Sandgate's foreshore is a must, which is dotted with playgrounds, wide paths for walking and cycling, an aquatic centre and the stunning Shorncliffe Pier. Take a walk or cycle along the Wynum/Manly foreshore which leads all the way from Wynnum north to Manly and beyond to Lota. Along the way you can take a dip in the heritage-listed Wynnum Tidal Pool or in the sea at tiny white-sand Pandanus Beach.

After all that walking, swimming, cycling and playing, you'll probably be ready for some lunch or an early dinner. A Bayside must is to grab some fish & chips and enjoy waterfront picnic, but if you prefer a pub-style or restaurant meal, here are a few we suggest. The Full Moon Hotel, Sandgate Post Office Hotel, Blue Nose Betty Bar & Kitchen and Il Forno Pizzeria in Sandgate; Waterloo Bay Hotel, Hepburn's Steakhouse, Adelita Wine Bar and D & W Republic Bar & Lounge in Wynnum, and Manly Boathouse, The Arsonist and Shucks Bar in Manly.

Sebel Margate

Finish the day off with a few sunset cocktails or wines at one of the Bayside's best bars. Some standouts include Mr Henderson and Cardigan Bar in Sandgate, Sunny's Rooftop Bar in Margate, Old Bill's in Wellington Point and The Shed in Wynnum.

Embark on the ultimate day trip to Brisbane's Bayside in the sleek and luxurious Lexus RX available in both petrol and hybrid powertrains.

Enjoy heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel during those early morning road trips.

The RX is filled with cutting-edge safety features including e-latch door handles which detect passing cyclists or vehicles and keep the door closed to avoid a collision. Plus, if reverse parallel parking is not your forte, the RX has you covered with its Intelligent Parking Assist feature.

The cabin is nothing short of luxurious with refined design, interior lighting colours of your choice and climate control with water particle technology that stops moisture evaporation and ensures your skin remains smooth and well hydrated while you drive.
